That explanation went right over his head. All he knew were trees, and flowers. Silver didn’t know what soil was. It never dawned on him that it was dirt. It was something that most people overlooked, although he still liked seeing it. Maybe not soft, like grass, but it had such a fascinating texture!
“I didn’t know you could eat flowers.” That was the impression he got. “Someday I want to learn this kinda stuff. When everything settles down, if I’m still alive, I want to learn how to make things grow.”
“It’s basically nutrient-rich dirt, hun. It helps for the tree’s health. I can get you a container of it if you wanna try growing your own berry tree.”

Rebecca ended up kneeling down again, her bag was getting heavy from just standing there. This way, she could get more berries if he wanted some more.
“Some flowers you actually can eat. It really depends, though. Some can be poisonous so y’gotta be careful. Berries in particular, however, are more like fruit than anything else. They’re healthy for your body and they give you lots of natural energy.”
