“I don’t think that would be such a good idea…” It wasn’t as though they didn’t have reason. That was one of the few things he didn’t really blame anyone for. His lack of technique made for a sound that was grating to the ears. His interest in it wasn’t strong enough to feel encouraged to get better, not like it had been with the violin.
“Even Blaze asks me to stop whenever she hears it. But that’s okay ‘cause I have my wooden thing that makes pretty sounds.” His hands came to rest behind his back. “The people from my world just aren’t very nice. But it’s okay, they’re just scared. It’ll be better when everything is fixed.”
“Well, the offer’s open if you want to.”
And Rebecca could always take her headphones off whenever he wanted to sing.

“A wooden instrument? With strings and a chin rest?”
Could it have been a violin? How curious. When Rebecca heard that, she let out a quiet sigh, kneeling down and placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.

“Humans do stupid things when they’re scared. Like being mean to a kind person or hurting them with words they most likely don’t mean. I apologize on their behalf, Silver, but try to stay away from them until this is all over. I don’t want you to get hurt, okay?”
