–The small boy’s eyes widened in awe as tears formed in his eyes and he just sniffled loudly before a curled hand rose up to wipe these tears away quickly with a tiny smile as if he was relieved that his cousin didn’t say no. He bowed to Rebecca politely to thank her and to his parents.

But he was still confused about that kind man who just smiled as he looked up shyly at him. Wally never really gets any visitors aside family members and their pokemon so this was new.–

“Would you like to accompany us, oh great Gym Leader Norman?”

Rebecca grinned at the man next to her, who looked away with a sheepish expression.

“Apologies, I cannot accompany you both into the route. However, I do give my permission for you two to be out there.”

“Aw, you’re no fun, y’old stick in the mud.”

The champion chuckled with a grin and gently pat Wally’s head again.

“Let’s head out, Cuz’. There’s a ‘mon out there that I think you’d love.”
