She skidded to a halt, tail swishing behind her in excitement as she barked in greeting towards the girl. When the basket was placed on the ground, she paused to sniff at it. It smelled good, like the sweets she often left at the shrine. Her tail wagged a little more at that, it was less hunting she had to do today.
At the question, she gave an excited wiggle, and trotted over to the shrine, standing next to the box, as if offering the girl to take a peek inside.
When the fox wiggled excitedly, Rebecca stood up, picking up the basket and going over to the donations box. She looked inside, an amazed expression forming on her face.
“Oh wow! There’s so much! People must be donating more often now!”
She was absolutely delighted, the bells on her braids chiming as happily as she was. There was so many donations, were people finally figuring out that the shrine was actually legitimate? She looked down at the fox with a bright smile.
“So people are finally figuring out what I did years ago, huh? Oop, speaking of which.”
She put the basket down again, going in her pocket for her donation that she kept separate from her wallet, and dropped two 1000 yen bills into the box with a nod.
“There we go. Was what happened last week what got people to figure out that the shrine’s the best?”
