“If we use the logic you guys are using, then me cuddling my boyfriend is also ‘nasty’ because we do it behind closed doors too. Do I have that right?”
“Oh, Kunai was just talking about the… benefits of having a boyfriend like me. They’re just being weirded out by my… quirks?”
“S’kinda disrespectful to call it ‘nasty’ though. I don’t judge them on their shite, s’rude to judge others. I mean, it’s not like you’re doin’ it in public so it’s not really a big deal.”
It had been a long, tedious project to cook the chocolates, with several failed batches, but Yosuke was finally able to cook heart shaped white chocolates for Rebecca. He put them in a bag, and after thanking Yu, he biked off to school. During lunch, Yosuke took out the bag of white chocolates and presented them to Rebecca, his face already dark red.
“Here you go, Becca-chan,” he said, hoping to himself pretty hard that she liked them.
Gently, Rebecca took the bag from her boyfriend, placing it down before grabbing his hands. Then she tugged him into a small kiss on the cheek.
“Thank you, ‘Suke.”
Then, she carefully pulled one out and popped it in her mouth.
It was a good five seconds later before people would later swear sparkles appeared around her. Her eyes were wide and amazed.
“They’re delicious!”
The young baker made a contented noise, all wrapped up warmly in her boyfriend’s jacket. Yes, this was perfect, even if she looked ridiculous and like a puffed up marshmallow.
He motioned towards the flour whilst will sporting an apologetic smile. While doing his own baking, he should have known better than to go in unprepared. Measuring out what he needed to use beforehand would have meant avoiding pestering the sweet-looking woman, but… deep down he didn’t regret it that much. Any excuse to talk to a cute girl was a good excuse.
“I only need a little flour, if that’s alright with you. I didn’t mean to disturb you, but my head is all over the place.” He chuckled softly. “Would it be alright if I borrowed the bag for a moment? I’ll bring it right back.”
“Go ahead and take what ya need~! It’s perfectly okay!”
She softly chirped in response, dusting off her hands on her light pink apron, her side braids swinging just a bit as she gently scooted the flour over to Sanji’s side of the counter. She seemed to have little to no issues moving it, showing her strength somewhat.
“There you go. I’m past the dry ingredients for this recipe, so it’s all good.”
Rebecca gave him a warm smile before turning back to the bowl, mumbling in French about how sweet he was for asking first as she expertly mixed the cookie dough without much issue.
ultimately i think kindness is the most radical thing you can do with your pain and your anger. it’s like, you take everything awful that’s ever been done to you, and you throw it back in the world’s teeth, and you say no, fuck you, i’m not going to take this. you say this is unacceptable. you say that shit stops with me.
humans are fucking terrible and this awful world we live in will fucking kill you but if you are kind, if you are brave and clever and try really hard, you can defy it. you can impose on this bleak and monstrous structure something beautiful. even if it’s temporary. even if it doesn’t heal anything inside you that’s been hurt.
i’m gonna sleep and i’m gonna wake up and i swear by everything in this deadly horrible universe i’m gonna make someone happy.
