The champion rubbed her tired eyes, wondering what in Arceus’s name could have woken her up. Then she deadpanned a tired greeting, adjusting her headphones.
Ash reaches out to accept her hand and propping himself back up.
“It’s th’least I can do.”
The champion led him inside, plopping him down at the kitchen table before going into the fridge to get him an ice pack. Rebecca adjusted her headphones before finally remembering where she had seen the kid before.
“You’re the kid from the Lily of the Valley Top 4, aren’t you? I remember watching your battle on TV a while back.”
She handed him the ice pack, sitting down at the other side of the table with her chin in her hand.
The champion walked outside with a worried look, closing the door behind her as she gave the other a nod of acknowledgement before kneeling down to look him over.
“Indigo said you might have gotten hurt. Are you feeling alright?”
Leaning over the Pokemon took a bite out of the berry that was big enough to puff their cheeks out. They tried to let out a happy Mew but it was muffled because of their full mouth.
Rebecca chuckled with a grin, giving the remains of the berry to the floating Mewtwo and gently scratching between their horns with a warm smile.
Fountains are made so Pokemon can drink out of them.
Urban wild Pokemon are encouraged to live in homes built into the sides of buildings, to prevent them from causing damage making their own.
Some large buildings are made to accommodate big Pokemon.
Cities often adopt mascots of their common visitors
You can often see Pokemon running errands for their trainers, especially if they’re elderly. Notifications and special backpacks are made so Pokemon can pick up grocery orders, mail letters and more. Sometimes they are given special hidden roads so they don’t get frightened/distracted/hurt by foot and car traffic.
And Hark’s smile stays on as he helps her up, giving a salute to Zeke before looking at Rebecca.
“I know. Take your time, dear. There’s no hurry.”
Zeke gave Hark an approving grumble before rolling over and promptly going back to sleep. Rebecca chuckled, leading Hark to her house and opening the door to the kitchen, letting Hark go first.
“Y’can sit at the table while I’m in the bath, if you like. Triton’s running around upstairs if ya need anything.”
