Standing back up he walked over to the green wing of his ship. Picking up the old wrench he turned back to the Human.
“Umm, f-from what I can tell n-nothing is. But I’ll have t-to take a close look at everyt-thing.”
“Good idea. You’ll have to do that when you’re better though. No rooting around in ship engines when you’re still hurt.”

“I’m glad that the ice didn’t break anything though. Ice Beam is an attack that freezes on contact so it’s pretty much sub-zero temps.”

“Well, my feet are kinda big compared to the rest of me, so…”
It seemed all Mobians had incredibly large hands, and feet. Nothing that could be done about it. Fighting the nervousness, he slipped out of his boots, birthmarks glowing like a flashlight as he stepped into the sandals for the first time. There was something fascinating about wearing different shoes.
“Oh, they fit! I’m glad.”

“Walk around a bit to see how they feel. Are they comfortable enough to walk in?”
Rebecca’s own sandals were thankfully flat, as she couldn’t walk on the platform sandals most women wore to festivals.

Kin’s eyes instantly focused on the source of the bright light, watching in pure awe as the firework went off.
‘Oh wow…’

“Whoa!”
Rebecca gasped in awe at the many colors lighting up the night sky, almost making it daytime again as they burst into fiery bloom. Several shapes exploded into the dark sky, flowers, Pokemon, even colors that the former champion had never seen before.

He felt her tugging his hand, reading that as his cue to sit down beside Rebecca.
‘That was a good idea Rebecca. And I think I agree, the view looks great from here.’
“Yup, it’s great-”
Just then, the first firework went up, lighting the sky in a brilliant blue followed by a bright red burst.

“Ah, it’s starting!”

‘…That would be quite the attention grabber.’
Keeping a tight grip of the female’s hand, he stayed close by her side as they walked up to the cliff up the road. When he saw their spot, he raised his head a little higher to look more.
‘…I like this spot.’
“Indeed.”
Rebecca held onto Kin’s hand until they were at the blanket, sitting down before gently tugging him down to sit as well.

“I’m glad. I asked a security guard friend of mine to reserve this spot cause it has the best view.”

“At least wear something under it so the edges don’t cut into your skin…”
-Shadow simply shrugged. Honestly he was pretty sure that he culd use a shower still, he had a pretty good memory. Even though it’s been a very long time, he mostly felt bad for using her things. Even with her permission.-
Uhm, no, I believe I remember how to take a shower.
“Alright then. I was mostly talking about needing to scrub it all out. I give you a brush for afterwards.”
Rebecca led him to the bathroom, handing him a washcloth and a bottle of shampoo.

“I’ll guard the door on the outside, that cool with you?”

‘I can’t blame you there. I don’t like that either, doesn’t seem safe to me having random people approach you.
It’s always the tourists.’
Rebecca may have been able to keep the tourists away, but Kin couldn’t help but feel a pinch of anxiety come up when one started coming near, evident by Kin slightly tightening his grip in Rebecca’s hand.
“Well that’s what comes with being a former champion here. I stop one evil group and now the entire region knows me. I’ve gotten used to it though. It’s been eight years after all.”

Rebecca gently squeezed Kin’s hand in return as they made their way towards the cliff. The road was slanted upwards just slightly, revealing a flat spot that already had a blanket set out along with two pillows.
“There’s our spot.”

“Ugh, I’m finally home. Five fucking battles they needed me for and one was some putz who thought it was hilarious to bring a team of Raticates. I’m just wiped out.”
The former champion promptly fell onto the cough groaning, her aching muscles protesting the movement.
“If anyone needs me, they can kiss my ass because I’m going to sleep for the next week.”
