“Silv? I made you something. D’ya want it?”

“Silv? I made you something. D’ya want it?”

“Eighty years isn’t long enough…”
That’s really all he could say. In eighty years, she would be gone, and where would he be? Exactly the same, as though he hadn’t aged a day past sixteen. He couldn’t even return the hug. Instead, he just sniffled quietly.

“It’s long enough if we enjoy the time we have, Silv. Hell, I could make it longer if I stay as healthy as I am now.”
Rebecca had her cheeks puffed up before she gently ruffled Silver’s quills, squeezing him just slightly.
“Yeah. I guess. Might as well do it while you can. You won’t be around forever.”

“Yeah, I still have about 80 years to go, I’m not that old.”
Rebecca knelt down and hugged her best friend anyway, softly huffing at the idea of being old at 26.
“I’d have even longer if I was Zekrom’s chosen but 80 years is still a long time.”
“But there’s nothing you can do. There’s nothing anyone can do. Unless you’re willing to take my life, but… I don’t think I would feel right doing that. It’s the easy way out. It’s wrong.”

“Silv… I would never be willing to do that, you know that. And yes, I agree that it’s wrong.
…The best I can do right now is a hug. Would that be okay?”
“There’s nothing anyone can do anymore.”
“Silv…”

“I don’t know what happened and I don’t know what’s got you down in the dumps. But I’m here for ya, okay? If nothing I do helps, I’ll still try my best.”

“No and I won’t ever be alright.”

“Do you want to rest in one of the extra bedrooms or use the basement and the hacksaw?”

“Silv? Are you alright?”
And suddenly the revving of a hacksaw is heard.

‘
I read that.I would as well, until whatever you just said would come home.’

“Nope. I believe they would be my world’s ‘til the cows come home’.”
‘Well no person who is sane would ignore their friends being insulted upon.’

“Sane? What is this ‘sane’ you speak of? I’d defend Silv til the Miltanks came home.”
