Oh, that’s good! I’m glad to hear it! I’m enjoying it a lot!
-He said, idly jingling it on the collars ring. It still reminded him of Maria, and made him cry some nights, but it was always a wonderful thing to have around.-
It’s always music to my ears, especially when I move around a lot!
“I’ll get you a bottle for the hell of it next time I’m shoppin’ then.”
Rebecca softly laughed, nuzzling her friend back and managing to sit up while hugging him.
“Yup! We could go swimming this summer sometime, I got a really comfy swimsuit that I wanna try.”
The champion smiled brigher at the sound of the jingle, ruffling Heat’s quills affectionately.
“I’m glad you love it, Heat. It makes me happy that ya love it.”
-Heat didn’t notice at first, he was reading a book when he heard his name, looking up only to see someones figure dashing at him like a ryno. Then he found he has Rebecca hugging him in a powerful tackle. He couldn’t help smiling like an idiot when he heard her voice. It was so familiar, he didn’t hesitate to hug her back.-
Rebecca! I missed you as well! Your body’s just as soft as I remember, How have you been?
-He purred out, nuzzling his face into her hair. As usual, he was a mood ruiner.-
I am a walking furnace, because I like to get people hot and bothered.
“Well I do use a nice body wash so I sure hope my skin’s soft.”
Rebecca hugged her best friend warmly, a grin on her face as she readjusted her headphones to hear him talk.
“I’ve been pretty buy lately, I finally punted that idiot out of the League so I had to take over his post full time. Since it’s May though, there’s not a lot of challengers. So I’ve got time to visit.”
“Yes you do, you’ve even got my face red. A new record, I think. How have you been, Heat? Enjoying your Soothe Bell, I hope.”
-Heat idly shifted, unhooking his leash and letting it fall to the side, taking his shoes off with his socks and a pair of arm warmers off. Placing the socks and gloves into his shoes, and neatly putting them off to the side. Idly walking to the tub afterwards, Carefully getting into the tub. Shifting to get comfy in its contents, the scent has weakened slightly from the water. He thought it reasonable. Hands on the floor of the tub to keep him somewhat steady, he didn’t want to get his collar wet and rusted. His previous collar was made to take this kind of thing, however this one was not.
Once he was settled down next to Rebecca, he gave a content sigh. It was warm, a little too warm compared to his temperature. But, that was normal for him since he wasn’t cold blooded, and often had a mild fever to top it off.
He has been hotter though, he was simply thankful that he could take a slightly above average temp. Murring at Rebecca as he softly butted his head against her side. His tears were drying from the warmth, although the stains and the redness was still there.-
Mrrr.
Rebecca softly hummed, her headphones still on as she took a soft washcloth from a rack to the side and wet it in the scented water, wringing it out a bit. She gently took Heat’s chin, patting his face with the warm, moist rag to remove the tear stains in his fur.
“There, doesn’t that feel much better?”
She softly kissed Heat’s forehead, her fingers rubbing behind Heat’s ears and brushing away stray fur.
“I’ll stay in here with ya for as long as you’d like, okay? So just relax for a while.”
-Heat said, smiling widely as he went towards where Rebecca was, idly settling next to her and wagging his tail. Patiently waiting for her to finish the first basket before he went off putting them all into the refrigerator.
He couldn’t help it honestly, he was happy. And the Sylveon that oh so quietly followed him around everywhere, was sitting next to him, with his pudgy little paws pressing on the floor. Looking up to what they were doing out of curiosity.-
“I’m gonna wash the Cheris next, be careful with these. They’re very fragile and pop easily.”
The champion went over to the table and got the basket of Cheri berries and brought them over to the sink, carefully washing them while the water streamed over her clear and scarred hands.
“The reason why you need to be careful is because the juice burns skin. Coupled with water or milk, it’s not as bad but you’ll still need to be very careful.”
That is nice of you! Sure, if you have enough left over from your use of it.
-Heat was still smiling when Rebecca wrapped her arms around him, wrapping his arms back around her with a small purr. He knew he was warm, thankfully he was at more of a mild fevers temperature, He was like this mostly because of a study on whether a gender preferred a warmer partner in his earlier days. He had many imprints in his genetics, this was oddly one of them. It was also one reason he gave himself the nickname ‘Heat’. He was hot, and he knew it.
His ears perked to Rebecca’s words, and gave a nod against her shoulder in response.-
Yes! It would be very pleasant to rest in that environment with you!
“I’ve always got plenty left over, actually. When we wake up, I’ll help you bring some over, that sound like a plan?”
Rebecca carefully stood up so she could walk up the stairs to her room and slid her bedroom door open with her foot. She was expertly carrying Heat like a toddler.
“Ta-dah! It’s huge, isn’t it?”
In Rebecca’s room was a large single futon, at least king-sized and the mattress was surrounded by lacquered wood to keep it in place. The blanket was a flower patterned one, the pillows as well.
“I got it while you were gone because everyone’s been cuddling up in my futon lately, I might as well get one big enough for everyone.”
-Heat groaned, flicking his ears to her words. That was true. He knew it was going to be okay. And that the liquid falling from his eyes would stop eventually. He has experienced this before. It will go away, maybe not today or tomorrow, but some time it will go away.
Idly following behind her with the towel in his other hand, trying to rub the droplets away. A deep breath, and his ears perking to her voice, as a smile slid onto his lips. Taking the bottle in both his hands, towel hanging from one side of his grasp on it.
His friends were so nice.
He couldn’t help but think, as he sniffed the open lid, the scent was tangy, and somewhat strong. He didn’t really recognize the scent, but it wasn’t bad. It was just a tad stronger than the things he was used to, almost annoying but not quite.
Giving a small nod to acknowledge the chosen soaps scent. His response not being a lie, after all he did like the scent. It was just a bit strong for his tastes straight from the bottle.-
It smells pleasant.
Rebecca gave him a warm smile, gently taking the bottle back and nodding.
“I’m glad you like it, Heat. I got this a few days ago cause I thought it smelled nice.”
She carefully squirted the body wash into the water, mixing it around until it was all nice and full of suds. Once that was done, the champion promptly stripped and put her clothes off to the side, getting in the tub while motioning to Heat to hop on in.
-A sniffle or two happened, as he hid his face in the towel. Nodding-
Okay.
That’d be nice. Uh… What do oranges smell like?
Is it like lavender?
-He asks, another sniffle as he tried to stop his tears from falling. He remembered many different scented soaps and shampoos he often used to help him wash Angel. They tended not to be relative to too many fruit scents.-
“No more crying, hun. It’s gonna be okay.”
Rebecca stood up after softly kissing Heat’s forehead and gently took his hand to guide him to the bathroom. She was thankful that the tub could fill up fast at least.
She popped the body wash cap open and started the water, offering the bottle to Heat.
“Here, come take a sniff before I put it in. It smells nice, I promise.”
-oh that was a pretty good excuse! But Heat wasn’t going to lie to her. Simply hiccuping and staying still. It was better to leave it be. He didn’t really say anything since his voice felt like it was going to crack. He waited a moment or two to be sure it wouldn’t fade out in mid word.-
Maybe.
“Well don’t mess with the powder, it’s not for eating on it’s own. It’s used as a seasoning.”
“Let’s get your eyes cleaned up, okay? Then you can take a nice long soak in the tub. I don’t mind hopping back in with you, if you’d like. I’ve got this really nice smelling soap that you’d like, it smells like oranges.”
She gently patted his muzzle some more with the towel, offering her free hand with a warm smile.
