“S-Sorry, Green. I lost my balance for a bit there…”
One of her chronic problems since the incident with the Hyper Beam had been loss of balance when she had her headphones off. She hated when she lost her balance, when she looked fragile. She wasn’t.
almost instantly, green was raising his hands in defense. “ hey, it’s no problem if you don’t think it’s okay, it’s just an offer. ”
he lets out a laugh, waving off the notion anyway. “ it’d still be satisfy- ing enough just seeing the shock on their faces seeing me instead of you. hey, might even make ‘em run away so you won’t have to battle. ”
“I, uh…”
Rebecca looked thoughtful, thinking the offer through for a moment. Green had always been a good friend since she had become Unova champion. The headphoned champion hummed for a moment before nodding in agreement.
“Sounds like fun. I hope we can get their faces on camera.”
“ well, if you want — they can always challenge me instead. i don’t mind it, i’m gettin’ kinda rusty anyway. i think it’s hard for trainers to find and battle me when i’m in a different region though. but ‘ey, whatever. ”
“Eh- You’d really sub as champion for a day or so? I mean, it’s probably allowed, but…”
Rebecca fidgeted a little with her headphones, unsure if it was alright. Iris usually filled in for her when she needed a break, but no one else had offered before.
“ well, y’know if it’s any consolation — you do get to send their ass back to where they came. funny how stuff like that happens. jus’ stop listening to them, at any rate. ”
“True, true. What gets me the most amused is their faces when they come up expecting Iris or Alder and find me instead. That’s always hilarious, especially when they start havin’ a tantrum.”
