He could feel it. Silver could feel the dried blood leaving his muzzle. That was a relief. It was meant to be tan, not red. His fur was meant to be white, and silver. His posture relaxed again when he got used to the sensation of warm water on his face.

“Doin’ my best to get it all off, Silv. Lemme know if I missed any of it.”

Rebecca wrung out the rag when she was done with Silver’s face, wetting it again and putting more soap on it so she could start on his fur.

“After the bath, I’ll brush your quills and fur. That sound like a good plan, hun?”

His eyes closed, just as she asked. He didn’t want to smell like a corpse anymore. There was something terrifying about being covered in blood, even more so when it wasn’t his own. Ears twitched at her touch, quills bristling slightly. Silver wasn’t used to letting anyone touch his face, but he didn’t back away.

“I promise I’ll be gentle, Silv.”

Rebecca very gently scrubbed Silver’s face with the lathered soap, making sure she didn’t pull on his skin or fur. She did her absolute best to get rid of the blood, washing off the rag when it was covered and putting more soap on it.

“Yeah.”

That was all he could voice. Having his quills managed in such a way was relaxing. Comfortable. Holding up the weight of his body was a little straining on his back, which was why he had begun to slouch, raising his head into the lathering.

“Good, I always gotta make sure it’s okay for ya. Close your eyes, okay? I don’t want any of this to get in your eyes.”

Rebecca worked as hard as she could to get rid of the blood, rinsing his quills after she was sure it was all gone. Then she picked up a rag and the body wash, putting some of it in the rag and lathering that up before scooting over to Silver’s front.

“Keep your eyes closed, Silv. I’m gonna wash your face off first.”

“Yeah.”

Now he was purring at a moderate volume. It had gone from feeling nice, to feeling good.

“Awesome. Cause guess what, this is the temperature the bath’s gonna be.”

Once Silver was wet enough, she turned off the spray to start washing his quills. She hooked the shower head back on the wall and got the shampoo bottle, putting some of the gel in her hand and scooting behind Silver. She then started working a lather into his quills.

“That feel okay, Silv?”

holdingmyworldsdestiny:

“No, it’s fine.”

While Silver had initially jumped as soon as he felt the water, it didn’t take too long for him to calm down. He had to get the blood out of his quills somehow. Admittedly, the water did feel nice once he got used to it.

“Alright, just making sure.”

“Is it warm enough for ya?”

Rebecca kept running her fingers through his quills, making sure the water would get to them.

“Yeah, I’m ready.”

Silver wasn’t used to water at all. He had only showered twice in his life. Any other experience was rain, and the scalding waters of Crisis City. It was fascinating more than it was scary, but Silver had yet to experience it all the way.

“And here it comes, Silv.”

She turned on the water, the shower head directed onto Silver’s head. Rebecca made sure that it wasn’t freezing cold and started running her fingers through his quills to make sure those were getting wet.

“Y’doing okay? Should I turn down the water pressure?”

holdingmyworldsdestiny:

He did as asked, and held both of his legs out. It felt kind of strange, sitting on a stool. Silver was used to having to sit on the floor, not on a type of chair.

“Thank you.”

Rebecca patted his legs when they were all wrapped up tight and stood up, getting the shower head and pulling it down.

“Ready? I’m gonna turn the water on.”

She had her hand on the knob, waiting for Silver’s okay.

“…Yeah. I don’t wanna take them off. Thank you.”

Everything would be okay as long as he didn’t have to take off his gloves, or boots.

“I’m glad I asked first. I had a feeling you wouldn’t wanna take ‘em off.”

“Legs out please. I’ll wrap it so no water can get in, don’t ya worry about that.”

Rebecca knelt down on the tile floor and got to work carefully wrapping up both of his boots. She took extra care to make sure it was air tight.

“Alright.”

Staring down for just a moment, his hands came to rest on either side of the stool, and he sat all the way up, pushing back the feelings of self consciousness that came along with it.

“I’ll have t’wrap up your boots in plastic so they don’t get wet. That okay with you?”

Rebecca had gone into the cabinet under the sink and took out a roll of plastic wrap to show Silver.

“I have a feelin’ you don’t wanna take those off either.”

“…Thank you.”

He did as he was asked, pulling on the second pair of gloves over each hand. He wasn’t sure what metal cleaner was, but he was sure that he could figure it out.

“No problemo, Silv. Sit on the stool and I’ll get you cleaned up while the bath warms up.”

“Those gloves are completely waterproof so there’s no worries about anything getting in or out.”

Rebecca went into the cabinet and got body wash and shampoo, putting them on the small tray under the shower head.
