“Thank you.” He stared at the odd… thing. Silver had never seen a backpack before. “I’ll be able to fill this thing with lots of things. It’ll make my life a lot easier.”

“Most definitely, Silv. For very large things or a large amount of small things, use the pocket closest to the straps. For smaller things, use any of the other pockets. I put a cushion in the larger pocket just in case you want to move anything breakable.”

“Thank you. I promise to take really good care of it. I’ll be able to hold a lot more things now.”

“I’ll do my best to patch up the rips before I give it to you, alright? It’s got a bunch of pockets, too. If you check back in about an hour, an hour and a half maybe, I’ll be done and it’ll be ready to go.”

“I would think something pretty big. There’s a lot I want to carry. But I guess it can’t be super huge, I’m not very strong. Not physically, at least.”

“That narrows it down quite a bit. I think I may have a spare backpack I can lend you for a while. It has wheels and a handle to distribute the weight better. What do you think?”

“I think I would be happy looking like this. It feels a lot different than being thinner did, in a good way. But I still wanna lose enough to fit better into those shorts.” That was Silver’s main focus as far as his weight went. To fit into those denim shorts without having to stifle his breath. For now, the stretchy shorts would have to do, not that he didn’t love them just as much.

These were something he wouldn’t wear often out of fear for them getting ruined, but these were things to show off to all of his friends. Everyone had to see what he looked like in clothes. “If clothes don’t melt, I’ve got a special place back home where I can put them. It’s the same spot I keep my violin. Somewhere the monsters can’t find it, and the heat can’t ruin it.”

“Then I definitely suggest a little bit at a time to make sure you get to a goal weight.”

“If you felt better than when you were thin, it’s possible you were malnourished. That’s not good, Silv, and I’m glad you feel better.”

There was concern on Rebecca’s face now before she shook her head.

“The clothes won’t but the headband might. It’s made of plastic while the clothes are made from cotton. Only warning, though. They’ll ignite if they get too close to high concentrations of heat.”

“I just wanna lose enough to make those shorts fit a little better. I don’t know, what do you think I should do?” Silver, ever the needy for emotional support. “I know I’m rounder than most people I see, but is that really bad? I’m not unhealthy.”

He grinned at the band, which looked interesting when coupled with his quills. Silver looked over his body again. Oddly enough, he couldn’t get enough of himself. He just felt incredibly good, incredibly special in what he was wearing. Like he was some kind of knock out, regardless of whether he was or not.

“I love this stuff.”

“I believe as long as you feel healthy, do whatever you feel happy with. However, it’s important to maintain that health with enough nutritious food. Like the berries, for example. Those are rich in vitamins that are essential for body health.”

“I’m very glad you like them, Silv. I think you look amazing.”

She was being honest. She thought he looked absolutely adorable. Rebecca wanted him to be happy with the way he looked but she never wanted to lie.
