“Then why don’t we make more air so that there will be enough way up high? That way people won’t have such a hard time if they wanna go up there.”

“Well that’s actually the problem right there. Nothing can make air except plants. And we can’t force plants to make more air because that would impact the animals who live on those plants.”

“…But why does it change?”

Rebecca thought for a moment before coming up with what she hoped was a simple answer.

“Because there isn’t enough air to go up that high. Hence why the air down here is ‘thick’ and the air up there is ‘thin’. The higher you go, the harder it’ll be to breathe.”

“…Oh. I didn’t realize the air was trying to lose weight too. I guess it’s doing a better job than I am.”

“That isn’t quite what I mean by thin, hun. By ‘thin’, I mean you will literally be struggling to breathe. The air down here is thick enough that no one passes out trying to breathe.”

“It’s just a term to describe the moon phase, Silv. New, crescent, half and full are the most common of them.”

“…The moon goes through phases? I wonder if she’ll tell me why if I ask her nicely. I’d have to fly really high though.”

“Yup.”

“You’ll have to ask Rayquaza to fly you up there but the air is too thin to breathe properly. Perhaps you could find a representative of the moon to answer that for ya.”
