The tugging was gentle but the grip IRON, and it didn’t take much to get him to take her lead.
A bakery?
Up, further.
…A house?
…Her House?
SCREEEEEECHING HALT.
“Is–uh, sorry to intrude–wait, is this your house? Is someone else here? If I knew we were coming I’d have brought over something for a gift…b-but wait, seriously, there isn’t a lot to say…!”
She let out a rather amusing squeak at the sudden stop, turning back to look at him with a baffled expression on her face.
“Huh? Yeah, it’s my house, Mama’s working down in the bakery today. S’why it’s the best place for a conversation like this. Why would you need to bring a gift?”
Then she huffed and pouted, probably looking rather cute but would forever deny it.
“Like hell there is, ‘Suke. You’re obviously bothered by something and uncomfortable with speaking about it in public. So I’ll listen to whatever you have to say once we’re inside. I’ll even make you a drink. Do you mind hot cocoa or something else?”
>Despite her being just a friend, you suddenly feel as if you’re in the doghouse….
“Then let’s go!”
She grasped his wrist with surprising strength and then started gently tugging him towards her place. It was where she felt was the safest, and her mother was working in the bakery today. It’d work well enough.
“Cute, huh…you know, ordinarily I wouldn’t take that as a compliment.”
“But coming from someone who obviously knows her cute, I’ll go ahead and make an exception!”
(Now that he thought about it, when was the last time he heard Hayate used as not a dog’s name…? Wait, wasn’t there someone from Naruto? Who…died? Whatever, Kunai thought of it, it was cool!)
“I think it’s great, honestly. It fits, everything considered.”
Very gently she poked his cheeks, looking up at him as she had to.
What Yosuke probably did not count on was that she’d be absolutely delighted with the gift. She’d likely put them on as soon as she got home, honestly.
Scraping the air in between his teeth, he kept his face somewhere between a grin and a wince as she worked. “I mean ok, sure, but still this is a litte–aiiyEEE, YOWCH.” A particular tug seemed to hurt extra, but sealed the deal on those wrappings.
“Gggah….Yosuke Hanamura, defender of Inaba, Persona master and serial saver of the world, done in by a bad bike.” he winces as he moves his arm to test. “And a really hard rock.”
…It was odd, getting to admit that outside of the usual team. But well…no point in hiding what she already probably knew right?
“It’s better than it getting infected and you end up bedridden for days while recovering from fever and in pain.”
She certainly knew what she was talking about. She had snipped off the roll from the already wound bandages, rolling up what was left before putting it to the side. She gently slapped his shoulder to get him to stop moving his arm too much.
“Don’t move it too much. You’re lucky it wasn’t deep enough for stitches or cutting the muscle. Or breaking your elbow or shoulder altogether. As it is, you gotta be careful or it’ll rip deeper. There’s no fracture anywhere as far as I can tell, but being a ‘Persona Master’ doesn’t mean you can’t be careful.”
Rebecca quietly huffed, the bells on the ends of her braids chiming softly. She picked up the bandage roll again and put it back in her first aid bag before carefully looking his arm over. She didn’t really react much to the talk of Personas, mostly because she was already used to it.
Then gently, carefully, she moved his arm to see his reaction to what was probably an obvious tug on the wound and bruising.
“Tell me when it hurts more than a sting, and that’ll be your movement limit for your arm ‘til it starts healing. Then lemme see your ankle. I saw purple when your pants leg moved a little earlier.”
“…Uh, right so. Nothing WRONG with heavy showers of Yosukes or anything. We’re the best! But, this is, ALSO the best. Knowing I haven’t fallen into the Yosuke zone. Yosuke. I’m using my own name too much, it’s losing meaning.”
“…Yyyanyways, Hey! Nice to meet you, I’m Housuke Yanamura. How are you–”
nnnNNNOOOOO
“…..Yosuke, Hanamura. Uh, and you are?”
Rebecca giggled happily, the bells on the ends of her braids chiming. How utterly charming and adorable! She adjusted her headset before responding.
“Rebecca Bardot. It’s nice to meet you too, Hanamura-san.”
She really couldn’t help but giggle, the rambling was just so cute!
“I do agree that Yosukes are the best though. They’re all very cute.”
