Again the Pokemon flinched at first. They couldn’t completely relax. So many things in their head telling them to run just as the scientists told them to do. But for some reason they still couldn’t explain Mewtwo couldn’t leave, it just didn’t right to do so.

They could wiggle out from under her arm and the covers once the trainer was asleep. Sitting on the bed now they thought about what they could do to help. Unsurprisingly nothing came to their mind.

Rebecca was sleeping peacefully, Triton every so often patting her head down with a frozen tail to help keep her temperature at bay.

‘Little one, she’ll be fine as long as her fever doesn’t spike. Would you mind helping out Goop downstairs? I can lower you back down to the floor.’

smallestclone:

Mewtwo froze at first. Being touched was still really strange for them. They hesitated at first. But eventually the younger Pokemon slowly crawled to the patted space. Laying face down to keep their second neck from getting hurt.

Rebecca weakly pulled the blanket back over them both, moving so she was facing the little Pokemon.

“I’ll be okay, little one… I promise…”

A weak hand gently continued the petting before carefully draping over the little Pokemon. Before long, she would drift right off to sleep again as Triton watched over the two protectively.

smallestclone:

The small Pokemon didn’t even notice the hand until they had to stop from the strain becoming too great. Uncurling and laying where they were.

‘But you’re hurt. I want to help. Like how you helped me.’

“I’ll be okay, sweetie… I’m not hurt… Just sick…”

“I just have to rest for a few days… I promise I’ll be okay…”

The feverish trainer gently pet the little Pokemon, her heartstrings tugged by the little one’s need to help. She pushed off the blanket a bit, patting the space next to her.

“If it makes you feel better, little one… you can stay here until the fever breaks…”

smallestclone:

Mewtwo didn’t listen. Instead they just curled up and grit their gums as they kept on trying to force their powers back. After a while  you could even make out veins in their second neck.

It hurt but the small Pokemon just didn’t care about anything other than helping this trainer. They helped them, it seemed only fair.

A hand gently pet the little Pokemon’s head, Triton looking surprised as he pulled his tail off Rebecca’s forehead.

“L-Little one… it’s alright… D-Don’t strain yourself…”

smallestclone:

Hospital was a new word for them. Mewtwo figured it was a place where scientists fix and make Humans like the lab they were made at. Crawling up to the trainer’s face they looked even worse up close.

‘If my powers worked I could fly and teleport us to one.’

Closing their eyes the small Pokemon started to focus. They haven’t tried this since the day they wandered here.

‘It’s alright, little one. She won’t need a hospital unless she gets worse. Our job now is to bring her fever down.’

With a small Ice Beam, a thin layer of ice coated Triton’s tail and he carefully laid it on his trainer’s forehead to help cool her fever.

She mumbled something incomprehensible in her sleep, the icy tail helping to cool her down.

smallestclone:

They did as Triton told. Holding onto their tail as tight as the little Pokemon could.

‘We can’t take her anywhere or get someone to help?’

Triton carefully pulled the little one up on the bed, padding over to Rebecca’s side.

‘There are no human hospitals around here, little one.’

‘She’s already taken medicine. For now, we just need to tend to her fever.’

Rebecca was sleeping deeply, not likely to wake up within the next hour or so.

smallestclone:

Some of that went right over the Mewtwo’s head. But they understood that something bad happened to the Human and now they weren’t feeling well.

‘Is there anyway I can help?’

‘All we can do now is be there for her and make sure to cool her off.’

The Vaporeon hopped up on the bed, hanging his tail over the side to pull up the little one.

‘Hold on and I’ll pull you up, okay?’

smallestclone:

Other than their powers doing a no show, the little Pokemon was recovering well. They’ve even started walking on all fours. Something the small experiment found very strange. It was hard to do and they were very wobbly. But other than being carried it was the only way they could get around at the moment.

Hearing something from the other room Mewtwo pushed the heavy door open with their head. Now the Pokemon didn’t know anything about health or even what that word was, but even they could tell something was wrong with the trainer laying in bed.

‘What’s wrong?’

Triton was watching over his trainer as he heard the little one enter the room, hopping off the bed to explain.

‘She collapsed outside, working too hard along with a fever.’

‘Goop floated her into bed and I’ve been helping to cool her off. Would you like to lay on the bed?’

smallestclone:

When the Vaporeon’s nose poked the swaddle Mewtwo suddenly took in a deep breath. As if their breathing was just rebooted. Afterwards the small Pokemon started snoring.

Rebecca silently chuckled. She was glad the little Pokemon was peaceful now. Though she was surprised at how loud the little one was snoring. Rather amusing.

When they woke up, she’d give them more water.

smallestclone:

There was a twitch here and there. The small Pokemon tried to roll onto their side, wasn’t that successful due to the tight swaddle. Their tail started to move and curl around whatever it could, the trainer’s arm for example.

Rebecca blinked at the little Pokemon’s tail and quietly sighed, waving away Triton when he started sniffing at them.

A breeze gently blew by, it was nice and cool for the rather warm day.
