smallestclone:

Through the whole trip they didn’t show any signs of waking up. Looks like they’re finally getting the rest they need. At the very least Mewtwo isn’t feeling any pain right now.

Rebecca simply held the little Pokemon in her arms, sitting under the tree. She quietly waved away any overly curious Pokemon of hers so the little one wouldn’t be disturbed as he slept.

smallestclone:

The young Pokemon’s mouth kept on moving, trying to suck more water from a rag that was no longer there. Mewtwo gave a little twitch here and there. Seems they were dreaming.

It took about a half an hour for the champion to get back to her room to bring the little Pokemon back outside for some fresh air. She carefully carried them downstairs and outside, making sure to keep the sun off their face before sitting under some shade.

Beside her was the water bowl and a rag in case they were thirsty again.

smallestclone:

They certainly didn’t feel like coughing any more. This water felt strange but good. Mewtwo wasn’t used to feeling warm on the inside. The trainer’s treatment eased their pain well enough they started drifting off to sleep.

Rebecca held the rag as such until the little Pokemon finally fell asleep, oh-so-gently dislodging it before putting it to the side and gently rocking them in her arms. She carefully laid them back down on the bed, tucked them in and quietly got up to go take care of something important.

Until the little Pokemon felt well enough to leave on their own, she’d put all her empty Pokeballs into item storage so she wouldn’t scare them.

smallestclone:

Drinking was strange to figure out. It took a moment for instinct to kick in and sweet relief filled the Pokemon’s throat. They were so distracted by this wonderful substance the young one almost didn’t catch the Human’s question.

‘Good.’

“I’m glad it feels nice.”

She carefully held the little Pokemon in one arm and used her free hand to hold the balled up rag.

smallestclone:

The Pokemon was hesitant at first. The scientists always told them not to eat anything while they were out. But they’ve already broken a lot of rules already and they hurt. Mewtwo bit down on the rag as hard as they could.

“Ah! Sweetie, don’t bite down.”

“Well, I suppose that works too. Keep doing that, okay?”

While one end of the rag was in the little Pokemon’s mouth, Rebecca balled up the other end of it and gently started squeezing water through into their mouth.

“It’s still warm but what do you think? Does that make your throat feel better?”

smallestclone:

‘Wa… ter?’

Mewtwo didn’t have long to ponder that before they had another involuntary coughing fit. Letting out a groan when it was done they buried their face in the trainer’s shirt.

Rebecca nodded, getting the rag from the water bowl and carefully holding it up to their mouth.

“Gently suck on this and try not to bite straight through, okay?”

This was the method she always used for any baby Pokemon she took care of, as drinking from a bottle was a bit tough at times. Especially when the little ones were sick.

smallestclone:

And still the little one kept on purring. Until they were interrupted by a series of coughs which brought more pain.

“Ah…!”

Rebecca carefully sat up, holding the little Pokemon as carefully as she could.

“Shh… it’s okay… it’s okay… If you’d like, I can get you some water?”

She gently rubbed their back, looking very concerned for the little Pokemon.

smallestclone:

Like it was an understatement. Closing their eyes the Mewtwo did their best to focus only on the song. Their purring started again much to the little one’s confusion. They didn’t understand how they were doing it, whatever it even was, but just didn’t care at the moment.

Rebecca kept softly singing, gently rubbing the little Pokemon’s back. She hoped that her singing was helping them.

She laid still so the little one wouldn’t fall off. As cushy as the bed was, the fall itself would’ve probably brought more pain.

smallestclone:

No, they weren’t scared. They were in too much pain to be scared. But did their best to ignore it all.

‘Can you do another song?’

“Of course I can, little one.”

She started softly singing again, this time another lullaby. It was a bit calmer than what she was normally used to but she thought that the little Pokemon would like it.

smallestclone:

What a strange sound. The little Pokemon’s tail gave a small, involuntary flick. Mewtwo had to process what they just heard for a few moments.

‘Was that a song you were doing before?’

“Correct, little one. It’s a kind of song called a lullaby. A slow song that can help one relax enough to sleep.”

Rebecca gently patted the little Pokemon’s back still smiling. At least they weren’t scared anymore.
