Laying on top of the trainer they didn’t see any other option other than to stay. That sound was strange but relaxing for reasons the Mewtwo couldn’t explain, even to their self. The last bit of what the Human said got them to raise up just enough so their eyes were visible.

‘What’s a song?’

“A song is words said in a tune. A tune is something like this~”

She softly went up and down the music scales to demonstrate and smiled.

smallestclone:

Pain or not Mewtwo wiggled further down into the swaddle to hide their face. Stopping only when the two little crests on the top of their head was all that were poking out. Though now their feet were sticking out of the bottom.

Rebecca laid face up on the bed, looking at the ceiling as she quietly sighed, her hands gently on top of the swaddled Pokemon.

“Little one, you’ve gotta rest. Otherwise you’ll keep feeling like this. It’ll be the only way to regain the energy you lost.”

“Do you want me to stay with you until you fall asleep? Or sing another song?”

smallestclone:

Letting out a little, tired whine Mewtwo just laid there in defeat.

‘Why won’t it work?’

“Because you were exhausted, little one.”

Those scientists were deplorable, doing something like this to an innocent young Pokemon. She gently held the little Pokemon against her chest, hoping listening to a heartbeat would help them rest.

“When you wake up from exhaustion, it’s common that near nothing works right. It’ll be okay, little one. You just need to rest. I’ll make sure you’re going to feel better. I promise.”

smallestclone:

That disappointed look quickly turned to one of surprise. It took a few moments for what was going on to click.

‘You can hear me?’

If their telepathy was working then surely everything else had to be too. Holding their head in their hands they started to focus. Other than further straining their self and making the headache worse they didn’t accomplish much.

“Either that or I’m hearing voices in my head.”

“Ah, don’t try anything yet- That warning’s probably too late.”

She gently rocked the little Pokemon in her arms, looking very concerned for their health. Rebecca got the rag again and gently dabbed their face with the soft rag to help soothe the headache.

“Little one, that was a bad idea. Everything is probably coming back on a little bit at a time. Trying to strain yourself will only delay it further. Rest for now. Please?”

smallestclone:

Setting their tail out of the way Mewtwo got as comfortable as they could. They were still in a great deal of pain but the trainer’s song did help. Their face turned to one of disappointment after she dragged out that last note.

‘Why did you stop?’

The little one didn’t even realize their telepathy is starting to work again.

That nearly startled the champion and she looked down at the little Pokemon with a warm smile.

“Well, the song’s over. Would you like me to sing another?”

She gently bounced them in her arms a bit, looking a tiny bit tired.

smallestclone:

Mewtwo was, for the most part, comfortable. But there was one thing that kept bothering them. Wiggling in the provided swaddle they did their best to change position. After a few moments their tail poked out through the bottom and stretched out.

She quietly chuckled at their tail poking out, continuing the song while taking care not to accidentally shove her elbow into their tail.

“But you’re neither friend nor foe,

though I can’t seem to let you go,

The one thing I still know,

is that you’re keeping me down~”

She softly dragged out the last note with a smile. Rebecca always loved doing that set of notes.

smallestclone:

The trainer’s explanation for the sheet’s warmth went right over the young Pokemon’s head like a Skarmory, At being picked up Mewtwo froze at first, expecting the Human to do something to them. But when they heard that song all their panic just washed away and the little Pokemon just melted in her grip. It was even enough to get them to start purring slightly.

Rebecca quietly sang, gently rocking the little Pokemon in her arms as she sat on the bed. She even took the warmed, wet rag from the bowl and gently pat down the little Pokemon’s face to help them relax some more. She closed her eyes, her voice a bit softer.

“Set me free, leave me be,

I don’t wanna fall another moment into your gravity,

Here I am and I stand so tall,

just the way I’m supposed to be~”

smallestclone:

That was a very odd feeling. It’s very rare to have someone do  But it did help ease the necks swelling and the throbbing headache so it was reluctantly welcomed. As was the new… what did the trainer call it, a sheet? Made them wonder why there weren’t any back at the lab. Wiggling their way deeper into the little swaddle that was as good an answer as the Human was going to get.

Rebecca chuckled a bit with a smile.

“I’ll take that as a yes. It’s naturally warmed by the sun so any warm y’feel outside, y’can feel right there.”

The champion put her headphones back on and carefully picked up the little Pokemon, holding them in her arms before gently rocking them. She softly sang to them, the same song she sang when they first met.

“Somthin’ always brings me back to you,

It never takes too long,

No matter what I say or do,

I still feel you here til the moment I’m gone~”

smallestclone:

Hugging their own sides they did their best to listen. Mewtwo had no idea what bandages were and figured they were something trainers put on their Pokemon. They opened their mouth to speak before remembering that they actually can’t speak really. It took a few moments to remember the correct way to respond. The Pokemon gave a small nod, haven’t had to do that since figuring out telepathy.

Rebecca gently unwrapped the bandages around the little Pokemon’s second neck to gently clean the wound with the warmed water there before putting new bandages on it. She was taking great care to be gentle, making sure to not make them too tight.

“There. All done with that. I’ll take the sheet off and get you a warmer one.”

With her headphones off, she was simply mumbling to herself, giving them a little smile when they responded with the nod. She carefully unwrapped them from the sheet, placing a new, warmer one under them before gently swaddling the little Pokemon in it.

“Perfect. Feel a bit better now that you’re nice and toasty warm?”

smallestclone:

There was no use fighting now, even if they wanted to. So Mewtwo just laid there and let the Human do as she wished. No longer focusing on trying to get their powers to work the young Pokemon finally noticed just how much pain they were in. The warmed rag provided a much needed, if small, distraction.

Rebecca gently dabbed their face with the soft rag, carefully turning them on their side to dab the back of their head. Any bruises she saw were gently dabbed too, hoping to soothe any pain.

“There we go. Almost done. I just have to change the bandages on your neck and then I’ll wrap you in a warmer sheet, alright?”
