“Hey there, Indigo.”

“I was just about to make a berry smoothie. Would you like some?”
“Hey there, Indigo.”

“I was just about to make a berry smoothie. Would you like some?”
Now they were trying to nuzzle her hand. Grabbing onto it with their little fingers and keeping it right there as best they could.
‘What’s hibernating?’
“Dear Arceus, you’re adorable.”
She gently started scratching between Indigo’s horns.

“Hibernating, or hibernation, is when you relax a certain way to sleep for several days at a time. It’s ordinarily done during the winter, y’see.”
The Pokemon floated up to Rebecca’s shoulder and nuzzled into her cheek.
“Mew!”
The former champion softly laughed, gently petting Indigo’s head.

“Glad to see you’re not hibernating, sweetie. It’s pretty cold outside, after all.”
“Hey, Indigo. You doing okay today?”

She squatted down, offering her arms to the little Pokemon to pick them up.
Another, smaller yawn came as they snuggled up to her. Letting out little mews they slowly fell to sleep. Their tail coming out of the covers and trying to wrap around Rebecca, forgetting about that splint on it.
She softly sang, a hand gently making sure that their tail wouldn’t move. As soon as Indigo fell asleep, she carefully laid them back down on the bed and sat down in the nearby chair to read a book she had brought along.

‘Indigo! Indigo! Indigo! Indi…’
That last thought was cut off by a big yawn, so big it kinda hurt. But they didn’t mind now that they were hearing her heartbeat again.
“Meeew.”
“Rest now, sweetie. I’ll be here when you wake up again, I promise.”

She softly started singing a lullaby, closing her eyes as she held the newly named Indigo.
Indigo was done asking questions for now. They had a name and that was more than enough for them today. The bouncing got them giggling now.
‘Rest can wait! Indigo!’
“Sweetie, you really need to rest.”

“You need to get better.”
She brought them up to listen to her heartbeat again to help relax them. The last thing they needed right now was to hurt themselves again.
‘Indigo? Indiiiiigooo…’
The little Pokemon thought it over for a while. It sounded so strange. Wasn’t it a color, is continent another word for color? How can you be born on a color?
‘I don’t know what a continent is… But I like it! My name is Indigo! Indigo! Indigo!…’
And now Indigo couldn’t stop mentally saying their name, they were so excited they completely forgot just how tired and sore they were.
“A continent is a large slab of land with more than one region or country on it.”

“I’m glad you like it, sweetie, but you have to rest, okay?”
She gently bounced them in her arms, her smile never leaving her face as she held them.
That took a few moments to register but when it did it was enough to snap them out of their little trance. A name for them? That was fast.
“Mew?”
“Indigo.”

“Since you were born on the Indigo continent. It’s not the most creative name in the world but what do you think?”
She gently pet their head with a bright smile on her face, hoping they’d like it.
That sound was a heart? The Pokemon took a while to just listen to it, they focused so much on it Mewtwo didn’t even hear what she said after that. Heart or not this sounded… they couldn’t think of the right word but those purrs should be all the answer Rebecca would ever need.
Rebecca quietly chuckled, still holding the little one up. She quietly thought to herself. A name for the little one… Oh!

“Little one, I think I’ve through of a name for you.”
