It was incredibly windy today, even up in the League. It was quite unusual to her. Was someone screwing with weather patterns again?
She couldn’t even do half of her normal welcoming speech for the League because her hair kept flying into her face. Maybe it was time to cut it though, it was getting a bit long for her liking.
Rebecca wondered if she could duck out for a bit to give herself a trim…
Lo and behold, there was indeed no more room on Indigo’s butt. Why in the world were they covered in sweaters though? It wasn’t that cold in the house, was it?
“Indie, why are you covered in sweaters? It’s not that cold.”
A trainer’s ID number is one of the most widely used but most overlooked section of a trainer’s card. When a trainer receives a Pokedex, it becomes linked with their personal trainer identification number. This number also coincides with the digital marker encoded into a Pokemon upon capture, which then link to the Pokedex and their Storage System subscription. With this connection, trainers are able to look through their party’s status, moves, and general history through their Pokedex as well as the PC. While anyone can scan a Pokemon with their Pokedex for basic information, only linking said Pokemon with their personal ID will completely register it’s information and personal data (nature, move set, ect). While the IDs of all owners are encoded into a Pokemon for tracking and legal reasons, only the most recent ID allows access into the Pokemon’s statistics. This encoded ID also prevents other Poke balls from capturing an already captured Pokemon.
Trainers that do not have a Pokedex are significantly disadvantaged in terms of Pokemon rearing. While modern advancements in mobile technology allow for third party applications to link in with a trainer’s ID and display Pokemon information, in the early history of Pokemon Trainers, most people had to hike themselves all the way to a Pokemon Center in order to display concrete information and numbers on a Pokemon’s health and ‘stats’. Any and all information about a Pokemon (wild or owned) had to be taken by hand.
Older trainers who traveled before the time of Pokedex believe that the new stat system of rating a Pokemon’s strength undermines the value of bonding with one’s own Pokemon and gauging their strengths based on partnership and practice. The modernization of Pokemon Training has lead to an increase of illegal Pokemon breeding, the use of performance enhancing drugs, Pokemon abandonment and theft.
Send me 🔥 and my muse will have to confess insecurity, fear or dark thought no matter how much they want to hide it
“If I could just get a break from the bratty, sore-loser challengers up in the league, that would be fucking fantastic. I need a goddamn vacation, and if yet another challenger tries attacking me because I beat their team, I’m turning them into an ice sculpture.”

She has a very good relationship with her Pokemon actually! Her Pokemon love her quite a bit and she loves them right back.
Pollux in particular she’s quite attached to, as she raised him herself from an egg when she was a small child. Once she was injured though, she had to train Pollux herself in being a support Pokemon, and she couldn’t be happier with the results.
Rebecca feels like she’s quite a great Pokemon parent, as she does all she can for her Pokemon to keep them and herself happy and healthy.
The Unova Champion answered honestly, brushing her bangs out her face before adjusting her sunglasses and sun hat a bit. It had been quite a long flight from Unova to Alola, but it was worth it if this was what everything looked like.
“–Oh, yeah! It’s Christmas soon!” It took the first feathery downpour of snowflakes hitting the ground to remind him. His Pokemon skitter around in the thickening snow, leaving pawprints wherever they go. Zack grins and slings an arm ‘round Rebecca’s shoulders. “Can’t afford t’ give you any presents but here’s a hug for you, and uh…” He rummages in his bag. “Berries for your Pokemon!”
“Yeah, it’s in a day or two!”
Her own Pokemon happily chased after the other’s, Pollux pouncing and play-fighting with one of them. The arm caused the Champion to squeak in surprise before she laid a gentle hand on his arm and grinned.
“Hey, hugs are a valid present!”
At the mention of berries though, all her Pokemon skidded to a stop before crashing into each other and ending up in a big pile. That had startled a snort and a giggle out of her.
