The ebony hedgehog walked alongside her, assured by the squeeze of his hand. While trying not to get nervous from the lack of light.

‘Would somewhere high be a sufficient spot to watch them?’

“Mhm. That’s why were going to the cliff at the edge of Undella to watch. I asked them to reserve the spot so we wouldn’t get any nosy tourists or rabid fans.”

Thankfully, the lanterns the townsfolk put up chose that moment to flicker on, illuminating the path with a soft white glow as they walked. The sun had just set about a half an hour before and the sky was perfectly dark for fireworks.

“We’re almost in Undella so ignore anyone who run up and ask for autographs, okay?”

‘But still, you look stunning. I only tell the truth.’

Kin loved it when Rebecca blushed, she just looked so much cuter to him for reasons he was unsure of. Kin happily took her hand and smiled.

‘Yes, let’s. I hope those are good.’

“Thank you, Kin.”

Rebecca started walking towards Undella through the dim forest path, her hand gently squeezing Kin’s as she walked.

“Yeah, the fireworks are my favorite part so we gotta get a good spot to sit and watch them.”

Now, Kin would admit that he wasn’t one for big events, but he had, himself, wanted to go to this festival with Rebecca and he was damn well going to.

He wasn’t wearing anything different, not actually owning anything but what was on his body. Although he actually tried to tame his fluffed up spines to no avail.

When he saw her he couldn’t help but just stare in pure admiration.

‘You…look gorgeous…’

“A-Ah, thank you… I’m just wearing a little bit of blush and lip gloss though..”

Even with the little bit of make-up, her face went pink at the compliment. She held out a hand to him with a warm smile.

“Shall we head over to Undella? I hear they’ve got fireworks tonight.”

The former champion waited at her door for her company to arrive, her hair gently flowing in the night summer breeze. She pouted a little, wondering if they would get there yet before hearing footsteps, courtesy of the hearing aid-esque device Cheren made for her for formal events where headphones would be impolite.

She turned to the sound of footsteps with a smile, giving him a wave.

“S’about time y’got here, hun.”

He seemed a little confused as to what she was doing with his head but soon went back to squishing Rebecca when he realized what she was doing.

‘Yes’ was his quick answer as he pulled her more closer to himself. He wasn’t that sleepy but he didn’t mind a nap with Rebecca.

Rebecca softly chuckled, pulling the blanket she normally used after harvests over them both so they wouldn’t get cold. It only took minutes before she was out like a light, snoring softly.

Considering how closely he was hugging her, I think it’s safe to say yes, yes he is having fun.

And here comes another squish from the hedgehog.

Rebecca rolled her eyes with a smile, taking a pillow from one end of the couch and wedging it under Kin’s head so he wouldn’t get neck pain.

She picked her headphones back up and put them on the coffee table, turning onto her side so Kin wouldn’t be squished. The message here was ‘Nap?’ She had already brought the berries in today so she was tired enough to nap without problems.

Kin didn’t mind the being sat on, despite the loud ‘oof’ he made from it, as it gave him perfect range to hug her tightly from behind and pull her down with him, all the while chortling like an absolute idiot.

Rebecca huffed before letting out a squeak of surprise, her headphones plopping down next to them as she practically laid on top of Kin.

The look she gave him clearly said, ‘Having fun?’
