She softly mentally giggled with a smile on her face, giving Kin’s head more gentle pets.

Rebecca giggled a bit, a bright smile on her face before she pulled out Goop’s Pokeball.

“Oh gosh, hang on. Goop, come on out and use Psychic, please.”

Goop churred and softly glowed, Rebecca’s head glowing before Kin’s and she took her headphones off.

-Can you hear me, sweetie? I asked Goop to use Psychic so we could hear each other. I don’t know sign language and I’m not good with mouthing things out without using my voice.-

Her mental voice was incredibly softer than her normal one, the contrast was staggering.

Rebecca chuckled a bit, putting her hair back down over her ear before using a hand to gently pat Kin’s head.

‘Steam from baths helps too.’

‘Energy beam fired point blank next to head. Not pleasant. Ten years since then.’

The former champion squatted down and tucked her hair behind her ear to show the other the scarring going inside her ear.

‘Yeah. Wind is best on scars. Nice and cool.’

Insert the ebony hedgehog jumping in surprise with most likely a squeak but he doesn’t know that from the touch, before swiftly turning around to see who it was.

A human female…huh. She looked harmless to him, but how harmless? He wasn’t sure, he seemed to be content with just looking the blonde in the face.

Her ears…what happened to them? Was she…? One way to find out was to point at his own long ears, then mouth two words to her.

‘What happened.’

Rebecca held her fists to her ears before making an exploding gesture with them and her mouth, indicating permanent injury from sound.

She mouthed in reply, tapping her headphones with a finger.

‘I use special tech to hear. Not using it right now. Wind is nice on ears.’

The former champion had her headphones off to feel the wind on her scarred ears when she caught sight of the other and she walked up to him, gently tapping his shoulder to catch his attention.
