…He’d be lying if he was thinking that he didn’t expect a kiss. But, it got him to focus on her rather well. With a small smile on his face as well to show for it.

!!

Ouch. He forgot about the antiseptic for a moment there, flinching a little from the stinging sensation. Oh well, he had a berry and he was perfectly fine with it.

Rebecca worked quickly, gently wrapping a bandage around the scrape and petting Kin’s quills when she was done, a warm smile on her face.

“See, sweetie? All better. Just like I promised. As a reward for being such a good patient, would you like an oran-pecha smoothie?”

Another berry? Ah yes, one of his favourite ones too, taking the pecha berry when he had finished his oran and nomming the new berry, albeit more slowly.

‘…Yes?’

“There we go.”

She gave Kin’s nose a soft kiss before getting the antiseptic out of the first aid kit, carefully soaking a cotton ball with the liquid. Her free hand gently took Kin’s injured limb and she carefully patted the scrape.

“It’s okay, Kin. You’re gonna be okay. I promise. I swear on my life.”

Kin gladly took the berry, quietly munching away in her arms with a liiittle less whining now, making sure he was looking away from his arm still as he clung to her and nommed his berry.

She gave his forehead a kiss, putting him down on a chair and quickly opening the first aid kit, handing Kin a pecha berry for when he finished the oran.

“Kin? Look at me, sweetie. Please?”

Her hand was gentle as it brushed against his muzzle.

Calm. Yes, calm. Calm is good, calm is always good. Yep, yep good to be calm when you are bleeding and potentially dying but hey, maybe that’s just a bit of an exaggeration. Or a big one. Oh well, might as well just cling to her and whine sadly. Yep, great plan.

“Up we go, Kin.”

She gently lifted him up to carry him to the first aid kit, picking up an oran berry from the kitchen counter for him to munch on in the meantime.

“Sweetie, here.”

‘I am clinging to a cute too.’

Ahh yes, cuddles in a blanket nest, perfect for the usually paranoid hedgehog, espeiclaly with the one he trusted most. Most perfect as he could be clearly and loudly heard purring.

“You’re a nerd and you’re my nerd.”

She flopped down on her side, her head laying on a pillow she put in the nest for comfort, hugging Kin close before taking off her headphones. She put them off to the side, cuddles didn’t need sound after all.
