retiredforeignmaster said: “Kin? Why do you have red patches on your glove? Are you alright?” And the former champion was already there, looking worried.

‘No. Fine. I’m fine.’

With that look of pain on your face and the slight shaking? I don’t think anybody would buy that Kin.

“Kin. Do not lie to me. You’re hurt, aren’t you?”

Oh look, she already had a first aid kit/toolbox in her hand.

‘And thank you for taking me here.’ That was all he mouthed before cuddling into her, very content with being next to her as he very, veerryyy lightly began to purr.

Rebecca couldn’t hear the purring but she felt the vibrations, recognizing them from when Triton had been an Eevee. She smiled in response, gently petting Kin’s quills as the light from the fireworks finale faded and the light of the festival lamps instead lit the cliffside.

He absolutely loved this, smiling as he watched the fireworks give colour to the sky one by one.

When he felt her hand squeeze his, he looked up to her face to check if she was talking to him and…and…

…Rebecca really was pretty, wasn’t she? And the makeup, no matter how little just accentuated that fact. He couldn’t help but blush a little as he moved slightly closer to her, squeezing her hand as gently as he could as he moved.

“Wow!”

Rebecca gasped in amazement at the finale, hundreds of fireworks being shot into the sky. She blinked and turned to Kin, giving him a bright, warm smile as the fireworks finale lit her face in a soft glow.

The array of lights which would have normally been a bother to the hedgehog were instead making him smile in awe as he watched the various fireworks.

Rebecca smiled up at the fireworks, having taken out her hearing aids to simply enjoy the light and color. She gently squeezed Kin’s hand as she watched, her hair being blown a bit by the late summer winds.

Tens of fireworks lit up the summer night sky, bathing the area in various colors.

Kin’s eyes instantly focused on the source of the bright light, watching in pure awe as the firework went off.

‘Oh wow…’

“Whoa!”

Rebecca gasped in awe at the many colors lighting up the night sky, almost making it daytime again as they burst into fiery bloom. Several shapes exploded into the dark sky, flowers, Pokemon, even colors that the former champion had never seen before.

‘…That would be quite the attention grabber.’

Keeping a tight grip of the female’s hand, he stayed close by her side as they walked up to the cliff up the road. When he saw their spot, he raised his head a little higher to look more.

image

‘…I like this spot.’

“Indeed.”

Rebecca held onto Kin’s hand until they were at the blanket, sitting down before gently tugging him down to sit as well.

“I’m glad. I asked a security guard friend of mine to reserve this spot cause it has the best view.”

‘I can’t blame you there. I don’t like that either, doesn’t seem safe to me having random people approach you. It’s always the tourists.

Rebecca may have been able to keep the tourists away, but Kin couldn’t help but feel a pinch of anxiety come up when one started coming near, evident by Kin slightly tightening his grip in Rebecca’s hand.

“Well that’s what comes with being a former champion here. I stop one evil group and now the entire region knows me. I’ve gotten used to it though. It’s been eight years after all.”

Rebecca gently squeezed Kin’s hand in return as they made their way towards the cliff. The road was slanted upwards just slightly, revealing a flat spot that already had a blanket set out along with two pillows.

“There’s our spot.”

‘Good, I like that a lot. I’d hate to be surrounded by strangers.’

Kin breathed a quiet sigh of relief, grateful that he doesn’t have to walk in darkness at least.

Oh no, random people would come up to them? He didn’t like the sound of that all that much.

‘I’ll…try my best to. I hope they don’t to be honest.’

“Odds are they won’t. Undella knows that I don’t like to be randomly approached. However, the tourists who visit won’t. Undella’s a summer resort after all.”

Rebecca led Kin into the resort town, glaring daggers at any tourist who was dumb enough to attempt to approach. She tried giving off a feel of obvious annoyance so the tourists would stay away.
